BRAGGING GRANDMA TIME

As I was thinking about what I could write, it crossed my mind that I had not talked about my grand children and great grand child. So here goes.

Joe and I have four children and nine grand children and one great grand child. Three of our children live close by, and one lives in South Carolina. Our great grand child lives in South Carolina and two of our grand children.

One of our grandchildren goes to the University of Alabama. One goes to Troy University. One goes to Auburn University in Montgomery and two will graduate from High School this year. One is in the
Army National Guard.

Good Sunday Morning

Well how did your team do on Saturday?
I was wanting Auburn to win, but I lost. Alabama won, so that was
good. We can't forget the Cardinals, they won.

Today is Church day. I am not going. I fell last night. Cut my arm
and my leg hurts. It's not good to fall with Parkinsons.

It has been awhile since I have been working on My Family News. I have
been sick. I have Parkinsons, so bare with me.

Soldier girl has just returned from another schooling. She graduated and came home on Wednesday. She will be working at one of the air bases in Montgomery. We are all very happy with this.

Our son and his wife will be working at Tallediga races on Sunday.
Two of our grand children will graduate this year. The other seven are
in college except one is married.

Well, I am getting tired so I will close for today.

Awaking early this morning, I knew it was going to be another memory days in my family's life. Joe's baby brother, Dave, wife Ruth Ann, daughter, Tara, son n law Chris and two of Dave and Ruth Ann 's grand children, were going to be stopping by on their way to Kansas from Gulf Shores.

I had invited all my family to meet at our youngest daughter's home to eat and visit with Dave and his family. Twenty- two showed up for a fun time. Talk of days gone by and loved ones that have gone, Croquet game was played and wonderful food was eaten.

Oh the talking all at one time, the laughter, the dogs even getting into the act. It was such a great and wonderful time. And then the time came when the goodbyes had to be said and you didn't know when you would see each other again.

Before they left Dave and Ruth Ann gave Joe and I a long beautiful plague that read:

The love of a FAMILY is life's GREATEST blessing.

Love your family and talk to your children about all the family members for some will not be with you for long.

SOLDIER GIRL RETURNS

HOME

After nine weeks of Boot Camp at Ft. Jackson, S.C., Nicole W. returns home to Alabama.

Around seven o'clock on Tuesday, August 17, the cars were packed, the drivers ready and the passengers had their goodies ready to munch on. We pulled out of Millbrook and started our jouney to Ft. Jackson , S.C.

We had to stop at some place, cause Grandmaw's neck got to bothering her. The next morning we were on the road again.

A new week in store for all of us. What will you need to do this week.?

I will be working in the kitchen, zone 2. Taking inventory of the freezer, and food cabinets. Cleaning the stove and top of the refrigerator. Cleaning the windows in the eating area and the glass storm door. Mopping the floor and a few other things that I have not remembered.

I will probably work on my Family History some. I will also write on my Bible Study. I have plenty to do. Better get on it.

Have you heard the expression "Time goes by fast when your having fun"?
Well, let me tell you, if I had any more fun I just could not take it. Christmas will be here before we know it.

My daddy 's birthday was on the fourth of July. He would be 99 years old. I can't picture my dad at 99.

If your planning on traveling, I hope you will be safe. Be alert to the dangers of all the fireworks.

Could Things Be Winding Down

I believe things are winding down.

The "newly weds" are back and trying to settle down.

My little Soldier Girl, Nicole, is doing her Basic Training. She joined the Army National Guard. (her Papa was USAF)

My niece, Courtney, has graduated from High School and is getting ready to go to the great and wonderful --- ALABAMA. (her Mom is a Blue & Orange Fan)

My Granddaughter, Little Bit graduated from High School and is getting ready for AUM (those tigers)

My brother n law is feeling much better. (: )

My Granddaughter, Leanda is enjoying Columbia.

My Granddaughter Jessica is in love with.....

My Granddaughter Brooke is just enjoying everything she does.

My Granddaughter, Amy is enjoying some kind of camp at AUBURN.

My Great Nephew Alex is enjoying summer. He's not the one in the Gulf.

My Grandson, Andrew, is enjoying cutting our grass. I hope.

My Grandson, Brandon is still swinging in the trees. H e cuts limbs off.

I had better stop or you will think I thought I was working on my Family History.

And me. I am trying to get my house in order, work on my family history, and enjoy life. Oh, and catch up on my blogging.

TRIBUTE TO MISS KITTY

WE WILL REMEMBER YOU

Butterscotch known also as Miss Kitty was a very wonderful pet. Her story goes back many years ago. About 15 years ago, our youngest daughter received a telephone call from our daughter-in-law that there was a very pretty at the Animal Clinic that they were going to put to sleep if they couldn't find anyone who would take her. Our daughter went to the clinic and carried her home. Because of her color they decided to name her Butterscotch.

Later on our daughter moved to an apartment and could not have any pets. We let the cat live with us and she (the cat) liked us so much she stayed until she died.

Miss Kitty and our dog Charley got along very good. They played , ate and got along fine together. At times it was as though Miss Kitty would actually talk to you. When we let Charley outside, she would want to go and I would tell her no she couldn't and it was as though she would say whyyy.

In the picture to your right , I had been reading my Bible and had laid it down. The next thing I knew, Miss Kitty was reading my Bible.

She never forgot Liz. I believe she knew that Liz was the one who got her from the clinic to keep her from dying.

We will always cherish our memories of Miss Kitty.

GRANDDAUGHTER LEAVING HOME

This has really been a hard month for my emotions. I guess I never really thought about the grandchildren leaving home like your own children do.

Nicole will be leaving June 9, for South Carolina. She has joined the Army National Guard and will be going to S. C. for her training. I really hate to see her go. It is one of those "happy-sad" time. Happy that she has grown up to a nice young lady to be on her own. Sad time that she has grown up to leave home.

Meema loves you Coley and hopes and prays for the best. Thank you for standing up for our country in this way. God Bless

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING

Sorry you missed our Granddaughter, Michelle's wedding. Michelle was and is a beautiful bride. Lots of people came. Great eats. The groom was very handsome as well as the ushers. The bridesmaids were just as pretty as ever.

I had told my granddaughter, something funny always happens at weddings. Two flower girls came down the aisle, dropped their flower petals and then ran up the steps. Their long dresses got caught under their feet. They did not fall. It was as though they knew they had reached their destination.

The bride and groom are honeymooning in Jamaica. Have a wonderful time and God Bless both of you as you begin a new chapter in your lives.

On a sad note for today.

Our prayers are offered up for a family who lost their son in a car wreck on Friday, May 21. May God's blessings be poured upon you.

Tonight I have some family news. Our third grandchild, Michelle, is getting married to Josh on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Michelle is very excited. She goes to the University of Alabama.

She is having another shower tomorrow. This is number five I know. May is a very busy month for Michelle. On May 9, she graduates from ALABAMA in the morning. Her sister has a Dance Recital that evening.

We love you Michele and pray for the best years ahead.

A WONDERFUL DAY

The day started out sorta gloomy, but I knew it would get brighter as the minuets ticked away. I knew what would be happening today. Cousins would be gathering at my home to get reacquainted with each other. It had been twenty plus years since we had seen one of them. Two of them had not seen the one in sixty years. Excitement filled the air.

The first to arrive on the scene was Anne and her husband , Perry. Anne and I had already met with each other before this day. Next came my sister Barbara. We had seen each other also. LOL
But Barbara had not seen Anne for quite some time. It was so nice to see them hug and mention how long it had been. Then came Richard and his brother Terrell. It had been a long time since Anne had seen Terrell. She saw Richard not long ago at my home. The one we were all really waiting to see was Wayne. None of us had seen him for a long, long time. He looked the same and just as handsome as ever. He came from North Georgia.

We talked about growing up. Roasted the family. Took pictures and laughed at ourselves and each other. What a wonderful day it was and the sun even came out.

Thank you Lord for this day and the pleasure it brought to each of us. We missed you, baby sister, Linda. She had to go to the dentist.

If you grew up in the years before the sixties, the word and name, AMERICA, meant so much more.

What has happened to our country? When did we turn our heads away and allow someone to come in and take our love for country, freedoms, and yes even our love for GOD away.

People of AMERICA, it is time to take a stand for what is right and true. This man that crept in our country, is slowly going to take everything our forefathers worked so hard to obtain for us, to make our life easier, away.

"But, what can I do?" you ask. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for our country, each other and this man. This is GOD'S , WORLD, HIS COUNTRY. Remember, Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning GOD ..." LET'S JOIN HANDS AND PRAY, PRAY, PRAY THAT THIS MAN WILL LEAVE OUR COUNTRY ALONE.

MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR

Yes it really is my favorite time of the year. Easter is my favorite holiday, I guess we call it a holiday. It reminds us again that Jesus Christ through an act of God is our Redeemer. HE gave HIS Life that I might have a life eternal with HIM. My prayer is that you have accepted HIM as your personal Saviour.

I also enjoy this time of year because of our Home Mission Offering, better known as the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North America and Home Mission. Annie Armstrong was missionary and helped to start the first Women's Missionary Union (WMU) in the Southern Baptist Churches. WMU is very active today in the churches. You may not realize it, but there are people in each of our states that do not know who Jesus Christ is.

I hope you enjoy this time of year as much as I will.

TIME IS FLYING BY

I knew I had not written for awhile, but I didn't realize it had been so long. I guess this is truly a sign of ole age. Well, it's like I told Joe, this Senior Citizen living is for the birds. Joe and I always dreamed of traveling when we became this age, let me tell you it is one exciting thing---we travel to the doctors and home again. Fun stuff around our house eh.

We bought one of those WII games. I was hopeing the grandchildren might come around more and play it with us. They probably think we will beat them---we get too much practice.

This is late news. Another granddaughter, Amy just returned home from Rome, Italy. She went over on Christmas Day with two of her friends. The three of them are on the Holtville High School Dance Team. They won in a competition and received this chance to go and dance in Rome with other dancers from all over. She said it was a beautiful place, but she was glad to get home.

WAGGONER'S HOME.....Today, November 22, 2009. in Millbrook, Al. someone is celebrating a birthday. Who can that someone be? He claims to be a medium, light and handsome male. This matter will be debated later on.

He was born 72 years ago today, in Chanute, Kansas on his Grandpa's farm. He walked 1/2 mile to a one room school house. Their was eight grades and one teacher in that one room. (I do not know if she is still surviving all of this or not. I have been told, he was a good child. (I wonder what happened between then and now) He dated lots of girls in his older years (so I have been told---by him) Even the sheriff's daughter. (that was so he would not get a ticket)

He joined the USAF, came to Alabama and met and married the most gentle, soft spoken, beautiful girl in the world. They have been married 50 years, have 4 children, 1 daughter in law, 3 son in laws, 9 grand children, 1 great grand child.

You should meet his wife. Her biography is written in Proverbs 31. ( the Bible)

We would like to honor Mr. Joe Waggoner on his birthday and wish him many more. We love you very much dear and do not mind putting up with you. LOL

News For Today

Today was an alright day. I feel a little better. I'm still coughing, but not as bad. Still can't talk a lot.

Talked to Kim this evening. She will fix the Sweet Potatoes for us. That will be next week for Thanksgiving. We will be eating at Barbara's. Joe and I will get the turkey, fix the gravy, have the sweet potatoes. Danita will fix Green Bean Casserole. Liz will bring some rolls. Barbara will do the ham and the best cornbread dressing in the world. We can't forget the cranberry sause. Makes me hungry.

Another Trip To The Lake

This past Saturday, Joe and I went with my "more mature" sister and her hubby, to see two of our baby sister's grand children. Fuller (5) and Tebow (8 months). They really put on a show for us. Very well behaved. We were surely blessed with the visit.

We couldn't stay long; had to get home for the ALABAMA game. They belong to that other team. LOL We still love them, though.

Rain woke me up this morning. I love the rain. I heard that
remark -- no I'm not crazy. I don't like to drive in it. It slows

HOMECOMING

Elizabeth (our daughter) and Brook (our grand=daughter) are coming home today. It
was Brook's 10 th. grade school trip. Liz went with her. They went to Pen., and

Washington D.C. They went to the Amish country. I have always wanted to go there.

Anyway, it will be good to have them back. WELCOME BACK GIRLS !

EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT

That's right, eat your heart out because I am going to the lake on Friday and come home on Sunday. Lake Martin, that is. We are going to watch football, baseball and eat and squeeze in a little bit of true T.V. Oh yes, we will visit with each other. Talk about our illnes/ That means that the McDonald sisters are ageing, wouldn't you say?

How many of you saw our baby girl, Elizabeth Lee on channel 12 10:00 news Wednesday night? I fell asleep and missed it. She is driving a cart at the golf shing ding in Prattville.

Well, I better go and rest up, so I can rest up at the lake.

I MADE IT THROUGH FRIDAY

Friday I had to go back to UAB. I had two appts. One at 9 and one at 12:30. Elizabeth drove Joe and me. Thanks Liz.

The first was a nerve test. The lady stuck pins in my left leg and arm and then touched them with wires. Some hurt and some didn't. Then came the muscel test. This test was done by a nice little Chinese doctor.

On to my next appt. an MRI on my brain and neck. OK now, no jokes. I do have a brain. I was in that machine for one hour.

My next appt. will be with the doctor for results.

FLU SHOT DAY

This morning, Joe and I went to our Dr. and got our flu shot. I fasted last night because I was suppose to have a blood test. Well, my doctor got to looking and thought I had given enough blood, counting the seven tubes in Birmingham, five or six to a doctor in Prattville and what I have give to my own doctor, so I didn't have to give any. I was happy even though I had fasted. Boy is my arm sore now.

I would like to give a big THANK YOU to my daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Steven. I have been having to go to Birmingham to see a doctor and to have many tests done. Elizabeth has taken time off from her job to take me and her daddy for these trips. Steven has held down the home front, while she did this. Thanks to both of you. We love you both very much.
This is not to say our other three children do not help us out, they do. One daughter is a kindergarden teacher, one is a RN in South Carolina, and our son works for a trucking company. We love each of you and what you do for us.

Well here I am back. Don't know for how long, but I am here. I have been so sick. Every time I turn around, I am having to go to another doctor. Maybe this one in Birmingham will really seem to have that magic touch.

Joe and I have a grand daughter that just graduated from high school. She was so excited and has every right to be. I did remind her, to slow down and enjoy every moment she could. One day she would wake up and be my age. Do you think maybe I scared the child.

My heart goes out to all young people across our nation. I wish they could enjoy the times I lived in. School taught what they were suppose to and not what the parents should have been teaching. Respect for self, family, those in authority, and those in need were taught. We said, yes sir and no sir, thank you, Mr. and Mrs., Aunt and Uncle. We were also taught that no matter what, God was the One we would all have to answer to one day.

How Long Have I Been Gone?

I am at a loss as to what is going on. I know I have not been keeping up with things but really!!! I have had a stiff neck (from my Parkinson's) and haven't been able to do much. I left off with the DuBoses anniversary on the 16th.

Eliabeth (aka Baby Girl, Big E., Liz, Punky, celebrated her 36 th, thirty six, birthday on April 18.
My nephew, Damon had his birthday on the 19th. 39 years old.
My brother-n -law in Kansas, Hank Waggoner celebrated his mmmmmm birthday.

Today May is here. No wonder I am so stiff. I'm getting older too fast.

Amy, our 7th grandchild turned 16 on April the 15th. Not only did she turn 15, she also passed her driver's test. Grandpa and I are so proud of you.

A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my son-n-law Chuck. He is trying to catch up with me. Chuck's birthday was on the eighth of April. Sorry I'm a day late and a dollar short, chuck.
I had to have three Botox shots in my neck. Seems my Parkinson's has worked in or around my neck and caused some bad stiffness. I had these done on Monday the sixth. My neck is still stiff.
My cousin Anne is going to do a monologue of Mary, tonight at the Fairview Methodist Church on the Old Selma Road. Joe and I are going to go see her performance. I am really excited about seeing this. Joe and I were married at this Church in June 1959.
Jessica, our granddaughter, has gone with her Senior Class to NYC. I have to get up early in the morning to see if I can see her on THE TODAY SHOW.
I have really fallen behind on my blogs. That is so easy to do.

A P R I L ... Doesn't that word have a beautiful sound. When I say or hear that word---I can hear Spring all in it. I can hear a light rain, flowers bursting open and saying hello I have arrived. I would have liked to have been named April.

I do declare, I think the world is spinning too fast. April is right here on us. I know one saying that is true...the older you get, the faster the days go. I guess I am rambling on, now. We had a nice day at church. We had a fifth Sunday singing. Just congregation, choir, solos and it all came together so well.

Alicia does signing on our songs and it is beautiful to watch her. She and her husband also are doing Children's time in morning service.

That's what two out of three are in my family. Stephen and myself are both, Brook is just older.

Stephen told how old he is, so I will to. I am 68 today. You can tell me I don't look but 20, or 40, it's alright.

I had a very nice birthday. Seven of us ladies from my church went to Glynwood Baptist Church for a retreat. We learned some house cleaning tips. We ate a wonderful lunch and heard a wonderful talk on how to clean and keep our house clean. (that is our inside house)

Yes someone in my family has a birthday today. My grandmother's birthday was today. We called her Mama Jacks. She was born on Tuesday, March 10, 1885; she would be 124 years old. Mama Jacks was a tall slender lady. I remember when she had long hair to her waist and then she had short hair. She had a stern look upon her face. She seemed to always be busy and yet she moved with a smooth movement. Her full name was Eugenia Miranda Baxley Parrish Jacks. I can picture in my mind as if were hours ago that I last saw her. Happy Birthday Mama Jacks.

At the first of the year I sure thought I would be better at writing on my blog. Things come up and there you are days gone that you have not written. I do have excuses for not writing, would you like to hear or see what they are. My email would not work right. I could not send any mail out or receive any in. It snowed on Sunday. It may only be two reasons but they are true.

My nephew, Damon Crumley, was interviewed by newspaper, The Today Show, and someone from the Internet about their new baby. Damon is my little sister's son. He is married to a wonderful girl named Alli. They live in Chattanooga. Damon and Alli decided that Damon could name the boys and she would name the girls. So, Damon named the first child, Buckminister Fuller. He named this son, Tebow Sanford Crumley. They are BIG AUBURN FANS.

What A Choir Practice

What a wonderful night of Choir practice we had. There was only five of us. Three men and two women. We are practicing for Easter. I just love the Easter songs. I just get carried away with them. It seems as though I can see Christ coming from the heavens, well I feel like I went to glory land, and need to shout it to the world. Our choir leader said we shook the rafters in the church.

Tonight,Joe will be going to the church we were married in. It is suppose to storm and then he goes back tomorrow. The weather is suppose to be bad, so pray for him and others. He is going to an advanced training of Lay Person. After this class he will be able to go out to other United Methodist Churches and speak.

Hi, Sorry it has been a few weeks since I wrote.

Hope you like the change of the Template. I just got tired of the other one. Since, I wrote the last time, I am a new great aunt. My nephew's wife had a small :) little boy. He weighed in at 8lb 11oz and 22in. long. Small eh. Now my nephew and his wife had agreed that he could name the boys and she would name the girls. Their first child was a boy and they named him Buck minster Fuller. Now this second child, he named Tee-bow Sanford Crumley.

Joy Luncheon

Well, today is the first Wednesday of the month, and that means it was time for our Joy Luncheon at church.
We always have the best food and lots of food. Today we had seven there. We never know how many. We know we had one out because of a hip problem. The preacher was not there because one of the youth had surgery today.
Tonight we have our Bible Study at church.
It is going to be cold tonight. The wind was blowing really hard today.

Joe had a meeting at the church tonight, so of course after I did the dishes, I got on the computer and checked the emails and I received a letter from one of our Missionaries that I had sent an email to wishing her a happy birthday. This is the second one that I have received a letter. I find it so exciting.

Ever wonder why they call it Groundhog Day? Me too. I think I'll look it up and get back with you.

Well, I'm back. Here's what I learned.

Groundhog Day began back in 1841. A German shop keeper in Pennsylvania said if the Groundhog or Wood Chuck came out of his hibernation and saw his shadow, there would be six more weeks of winter and if he did not see his shadow then spring was just around the corner.

Yesterday, I mentioned we had birthdays. I will become a new Great Aunt also this month. Any day now in fact.

First let me say, I will miss the Bushes very much. They are happy being back in Texas, and I would also if I were them.
I was wrong. I did not vote for Barack. I think at this moment he might just be the right man for President. All of the things that have happened yesterday and today, have really been touching. The elderly man that prayed. You could just feel all those things. Since Monday was Martin Luther King Day, I couldn't help but think his dream has finally come true. I wondered if he knew it. I thought about the African Americans from way back before I was born and how thrilled, happy and thankful they would be. I also thought about my own race. Those who were having the same feeling and thoughts like me. I even thought about the ones that were very unhappy and angry because this man had won the Presidency. How cruel we are at times. I think some in my race think that God created all the world for us. I also think that some of the African Americans think He created the world for only them.
My prayer is that all of us can and will get along with each other. God does not see us in color, He sees us all looking alike. I think Barack Obama being our President should teach us two things in life. One is that we have all been created by the same hands and the other lessons is...that dreams can and do come true. We might have to wait many many years for some of them, but know that when we have dreams that God gives us and we listen to Him and follow after Him, then yes our dreams will come true.
One other thing, God expects us to pray for this President just as He expected us to pray for the other Presidents.

Boy, talk about cold. It is going to get real cold tonight. Hope Kim and Joe remember to turn that water on outside, or they won't have no water on that old dirt road.

My son-n-law, Stephen, had some kind of eye surgery today. He won't have to wear his glasses, isn't that a wonderful thing.

CHRISTMAS EVE, 2008
FIRST STOP
Joe and I traveled from Millbrook to Deatsville. We arrived at the home of Danita and Chuck. We were the last ones there. I can't understand that, usually I am the first one to arrive at places. After a lot of chit chat and watching Danita prepare her goodies to take to Dale and Kenny's, we got down to the real business of the evening. Opening the presents. We started with the oldest---Grandpa Joe, nice under shirts (much needed), nice dress shirt, and mercy me a get in shape exercise thing. Some kind of gadget to hang on the door and he is suppose to pull himself up. Then it is my turn---some good smelling stuff (I guess it was good, I can't smell) and alright a radio that I can hear police calls and ambulance. What was that---one of my granddaughters said something that I can be nosey with. Now they can hear when the ambulance comes to our house to get Grandpa when he falls with that pull-up thing.
SECOND STOP
After we had finished taking pictures at our first stop, we decided we better hit the muddy road to Dale and Kenny's. When all the hugs and Merry Christmas were said, we ate and ate and ate. Then the Dirty Santa Gifts were separated from the children's gifts. The children opened their gifts and went in another room to play. All the Dirty Santa Gifts were placed in the middle of the room. Numbers were made on slips of paper (1-17) and we drew our slip of paper from a bowl. I drew number 2 and Joe drew number 1. Number 1 went up and chose a gift, unwrapped it and then I followed, since I had number 2. Joe's gift was a heater. I chose a gift and opened it, would you believe it was a heater, also. Joe (because he had #1) could have taken my gift from me, if he had wanted to, A gift can move from one person to another only three times and then it is frozen. You are stuck with what you get, like it or not. It is loads of fun and we really enjoy it. That's why it is called Dirty Santa.
After all the good food, the opening of gifts, the talking about Christmases gone by, Joe and I left our wonderful gathering of The McDonald Sisters,Barbara, Juanita, and Linda's Family Christmas.

My week of Sunday, December 14, to Friday, December 19.

Sunday, Dec.14 --- We had our regular morning worship. That night we had our Cantata. It turned out really good. I made it through my song. Mary, Joseph, the baby, shepherds, and the wise men did very good. My granddaughters lite the candles and nobody got burned or the church. So, that was good.

The rest of the week, I have spent trying to rest up and clean the house up. I will be very glad when the holidays are all over. I have never been one to enjoy the holidays. I enjoy the religious part but the gifts, trees and all that forget it.

Tomorrow is the Day

I know it is Sunday. It is also the night we have our Cantata at church. I will be singing a duet with Jack. Jack is a very special gentleman at our church. I must say I am honored that he wanted to sing with me. We will be singing "O Holy Night".

Our granddaughter, Jessica's car was broken into today at the Montgomery Zoo. They stole her purse. Jessica is a diabetic and her insulin for her pump was in her purse. I think this is the way it goes. Anyway her medicine was taken. I can not for the life of me, understand why people want to take what is not theirs. I guess they are uneducated, lazy, and I am sure a bunch of other things. Like I have said for years, it takes all kinds of people to make a world.

Another Day

I got in touch with my cousin, Wayne. We haven't seen each other for many years. Reckon why, when your growing up, you play with your cousins, do everything with them. Then when you get married, you don't see them or talk to them. I have gotten in touch with two of my cousins. I guess when you become a senior citizen you start thinking how much more family means. Any how, Wayne sent me an email about my blog. He said I had not aged one day. Now, you know my cousin still has good eye site, I think anyway. To be modest (as I am) I wrote back, was he sure that was me he saw. Then, it dawned on me, he saw that picture to your left. That is my Senior High picture, well I am a Senior again now. It was really good to talk about, do you remember when.....

SMOKE THE HOUSE UP WEEKEND

I was just reading my son-n-law's blog, and he had forgot to open the vent in the fireplace and when he lite their first fire of the season, yep your right smoke every where.

I was doing some work on the computer the other evening and started wondering what was wrong with my eyes. Everything was so foggy looking. Then I got to coughing. I thought I would never stop. I ask Joe if there was smoke in the house. He said yes, he turned the stove on and forgot there was grease in the skillet. I closed off the bedrooms, turned on the fans and opened windows a little bit. Wet a paper towel and placed it over my face. After awhile things got a lot better, except for my coughing.

Friday, December 5, we had a birthday in our family. Jessica turned 18 years old. I turned even older. Makes us Grandma's older when we see these grands get older. I just don't know how the days can move so fast and I move so much slower.

I was reading about Tuberville. Now, mind you I am a ROLL TIDE FAN, but I don't think the orange and blue are treating the man fair. These schools just slay me, the way they turn these coaches loose because they loose a game here and there. They need to really get back to why they have these schools. In guess they forgot, it is suppose to be for teaching not sports. The money they charge the parents is utterly sickening. Yes, I am talking about Bama also.

These are two of my dear friends from the country. Salt and Pepper are their names. They would even kinda talk to you sometimes. My nephew, Chris, owned them. Chris lived next door to us. On the other side of us, lived our son, Joe and his wife Kim. One day they were out on the back porch and Chris came walking in our backyard to Joe and Kim's house. Here come Salt and Pepper right behind him. Chris walked up the steps,yep you got it, Salt and Pepper followed him right up those steps and they went right inside the open back door into the kitchen. I laughed and laughed. I still laugh every time I think of that, Never a dull moment when they were around. Chris gave them to someone that had a lot of goats.

News from the 14th. to the 19th.

~ Sunday,went OK I guess. Went out to the Van---wouldn't start. Jumped it off, went on our way. Joe and counters took for ever couting the money. Joe had caused the problem. Went to leave, had to jump Van off. Went to eat,jumped Van off. Give us a break!

~ Monday. Wal-mart couldn't put new battery in Van. Had to go the Chev. place--cost was over $200. Amy got sick, she had to spend hours in ER. Diagnosed with kidney stone.

~ Tuesday. Went over and sat with Amy. Danita went to work, Chuck cut grass and other jobs. Amy slept all day long. Still no stone.

~ Wednesday. Laid around all day. Didn't feel good. By the way, the pump was fine, a wire had been cut that ran u nder the house. (I think)

~ Thursday. Joe cut grass. I washed one or two loads of clothes. Still not feel good.
Went to choir practice at church. Had a good practice and wonderful group prayer for our church.

~ Felt worse. Got new medicine. Helps some. Joe went to ballgame. One group of grand children's school plays the other group of grand children's school. Joe went, with the mamas and the papas (reminds me of a song group) of one group. I'll let you know tomorrow.

~ The country team beat the city team in the game of football. Score was 14-13. Baby Girl (city team) was a little upset. :(

~Need some more pictures of grandchildren esp. Little Bit, Brook and Andrew.

~Look out for those nuts, that try and get your money out of your account, they seem to call on your cell phone and also send an e-mail.

~Had a great training session at the church on Thursday.

~Joe,Jr and Kim's water pump went out on Friday. Can't find the problem.

~Let us remember to pray for all those in the Hurrican area.

Our Graduates

These are three of our granddaughters, Michelle (to your left), Nicole (to your right),and Jessica (top center).

Michelle is 21 and oldest daughter of our first child,Danita. Michelle goes to Alabama University.

Nicole is 18 and the oldest child of our third child, Joe Jr. Nicole goes to Troy College in Montgomery. She works also.

Jessica is 17 and the oldest child of our fourth child, Elizabeth. Jessica will graduate in 2009 and plans on going to Falkner in Montgomery.

This is Amy. She is Danita's (our first child's) youngest daughter, and our seventh grandchild. Amy is a very talented young lady. She takes dancing and is on the Dance Team at school. She is also very dedicated to her church. She plans on going to Troy College, when she graduates.

BRAGGING TIME

Leanda is the daughter of our second child, Sissy and our second grand child. Blake is her husband and Ashlyn is their little girl and our great, granddaughter. We don't get to see her like we wish we could. But we cherish those moments when we are able to see her. We talk to her on the phone some time. They live somewhere in South Carolina.

Home Sweet Home

This is where Joe and I hang our hats. That is if we wore hats. We lived in the country, or what is known as the country now days. I was so depressed. Especially, when all the children left home. It was just me, Charlie, Miss Kitty, and a bunch of pine trees.

It is amazing what a move to the city or town can do for you. It's still me, Charlie, Miss Kitty, and trees, plus Humming Birds (I did have those up in the country). Joe is here, but soon he will go back on days. I can here things here. Like sirens, car sounds, you know all those city sounds. I'm a grinning cause I'm a living in the city. :) We moved here on March 28; my hmmm birthday.

~ I'm still trying to figure it out. That's what age does to you. It takes awhile to figure out some things.What are your plans for this day. Joe and I really don't have any. He works tonight. Right now he is getting ready to fill the bird feeders.

~ Speaking of birds, I wonder how Baby Girl's birds are. Baby Girl is our youngest child. She didn't have many birds and did not like her bird feeder (humming birds). Joe bought her two feeders like ours and showed her how much sugar and water to put in it. Now she has more bird.

~Yesterday we went out to eat with our daughter (Danita), Amy, Michelle, and Josh (Michelle's boyfriend) Michelle turned 21 on Aug. 27. Danita's husband, Chuck, could not go with us. He had to work. We missed you Chuck.

~Speaking of birthdays, today is our daughter-n-law, Kim's mmm birthday. You could not ask for a better daughter-n-law. She is my favorite. Love ya, Kim.
